Before Love Laugh Learn
Before founding Love Laugh Learn I worked with lots of lovely children in different environments as a nanny, governess and teacher. I started Love Laugh Learn as I found that many children would have benefitted from further early learning experiences before starting with the ever demanding school curriculum. One to one and small group learning environments support those ‘lightbulb moments’ that are sometimes difficult to grasp in larger group situations. Children that start school with confidence tend to have a much more fulfilling experience throughout their school life.
My career as an early years’ specialist started as a Norland nanny. During my training I spent time in schools, nurseries, special educational settings and private homes with newborns, twins and triplets. I qualified with distinction and was awarded the Olivia Cowling memorial prize for qualities of care and compassion, and the Louise Davis Silver Rose Bowl cup for the highest overall grades over the Norland Diploma training.
I lived in as a sole charge nanny for three years with the same family. I then worked as a nursery teacher in a private pre preparatory school before starting my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Primary and Early Years for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I taught in a state Reception class seeing in the new curriculum. I then went on to teach in Key Stage Two in a Year Four class. I provided extra support for the children that struggled to access the curriculum and guided them in a way that suited their learning and development. I was also the co-ordinator for PE and school sport.
I have a passion for sport and enjoy rowing at Putney Town Rowing Club. I raced at Henley in 2014 and now enjoy sculling socially, yoga and running.
I offer pre-school learning sessions both in the home and garden of Love Laugh Learn and in private homes. Primary tutoring is available after school hours and during the holidays.
